What does ETO stand for in sterilizer?

The full form of ETO is ethylene oxide is an inflammable, toxic and colorless gas with a hazily sweet fragrance at temperature above 10.7 ºC. Ethylene oxide is industrially made by oxidation of ethylene in the existence of silver catalyst. It is directly affects the growth, development and aging of all types of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and viruses therefore used as sterilant for medical equipment and appliances.
